Meet Your Instructor

Marianne Campbell

After participating in HIV research at the National Institutes of Health from 1999-2000, Marianne Campbell earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology in 2007, studying how the immune system responds to Pseudomonas and Salmonella infections. Currently, she investigates ways to improve diabetes diagnoses and interventions in the Department of Pathology at Emory University. With three RNs in her family, Marianne is ecstatic for the opportunity to teach Kaylim students on the journey to join a crucial profession.

Victor Dees

 

Victor Dees is a second year Doctor of Chiropractic student at Life University in Marietta, GA and is concurrently working toward a degree in Biology. Mr. Dees also holds a degree in Criminal Justice and Business Administration. His career has spanned from the United States Marines to Law Enforcement. When not teaching Kaylim students or pursuing yet another degree, Mr. Dees is an Elite Natural Bodybuilder, which lends itself to his impressive in-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

 

George Nema

 

George Nema has a Bachelor of Science from Kutztown University with a dual major in Biology and Chemistry. He also has Master of Science from Thomas Jefferson University, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Mr. Nema has a passion for teaching that stems from both his parents being educators. He has taught several allied health related courses and biochemistry for many years at Lehigh County Community College, LCCC. Mr. Nema is currently involved in medical research in the area of H. Pylori association with stomach cancer.

 

Clarence Hicks

After Clarence Hicks received his degree in psychology and secondary education from Florida A&M University in 2001, Clarence spent a year working as an adult case manager for the Apalachee Center for human services in Quincy Florida. He soon realized that his true passion was education and began his teaching career in Ocala Florida at Lake Weir High School. Clarence then spent three years teaching high school in the Dekalb County School System. Clarence currently works for the Ranstad Pearson Corp as a reader/scorer.

 

 Debbie TW

 

Debbie TW is a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  In addition, she has earned an Adult Education Teaching credential from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).  She has over ten years of teaching experience with the Los Angeles Unified School District.  Having taught elementary and high school, as well as adult school, Debbie is a dynamic, ardent, creative Educator with a keen sense of humor. Her educational ideology embraces the belief that every student can excel academically, in an environment which is conducive to learning.

 

Shannon Herbert, RN

Shannon Hebert, RN, MPH is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a B.S. degree in Biology. She then went on to earn a Master of Public Health degree in Health Education from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and an A.S.N. from Pasadena City College (PCC) in Pasadena, California. For four years, Shannon served as an adjunct instructor, teaching health at PCC. She has training as both a medical surgical nurse and a psychiatric nurse. Since living in Georgia she worked as a Clinical Research Nurse at Emory University School of Medicine, managing research trials designed to treat patients living with HIV/AIDS. Currently, she is employed as a Nurse Epidemiologist with a local health department. Her main areas of specialty are infectious diseases and psychiatric nursing.



Sheri Taylor, RN, BSN, WCON


Sheri Taylor RN, BSN, WCON is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Business Management Degree and then attended University of Kentucky and obtained her degree in Nursing. She has been in the nursing field for 15 years and an educator for 10 years. Ms. Taylor continues to work giving direct patient care to continue to learn and provide optimal care and to be better equipped with the knowledge to teach more efficiently. Ms. Taylor's specialty is with neonatal and pediatric intensive care and pediatric psychiatric nursing. She has always worked as a medical surgical nurse with adults to keep those skill levels also.

Ms. Taylor is also well known to the Atlanta community because of her volunteer work with the Autism Foundation and March of Dimes, She is an American Heart Instructor and has been nominated for Nurse of the Year from AJC, Southern Regional Medical Center, and Spectrum Magazine. She was also on the cover of Spectrum Magazine along with her colleagues for Best Nursing Team of 2005. Her devotion to her students doesn’t stop on a local level. She is also a published author for several nursing magazines. Her enthusiasm definitely carries over into her classroom instruction.
